Trash and delete data#
This page details how to trash and delete data in Neptune. Trashed objects can be recovered, whereas deletion is permanent.
Deleting metadata from runs#
You can delete metadata from runs or other Neptune objects by resuming a connection to it in your code and operating on the namespaces or fields you wish to delete.

Trashing runs#
You can trash Neptune runs or other objects:
- Through the app, by selecting the objects and clicking Trash in the top-right corner.
- Through the API, with the
trash_objects()function.
Until the trash is emptied, trashed objects remain in the trash and can be restored.

Emptying the trash#
You can permanently delete the objects in the project trash through the app or with the following management functions:
delete_objects_from_trash(): delete particular objects from the trash.clear_trash(): empty the trash completely.
Deleting projects#
To permanently delete a project and all of its contents:
- Go to the project settings ( ).
- Select Delete project.
- Confirm the action.
Deleting workspaces#
Warning
Deleting a workspace irreversibly deletes all of its projects and contents.
Team workspace#
To permanently delete a team workspace:
- In the top left, click the workspace icon and select Workspace settings.
- Click Delete workspace.
- If you're absolutely certain, confirm the action.
Individual workspace#
To delete the individual workspace associated with your account, delete your Neptune account. (If it's an individual workspace, there's no option to delete it from the workspace settings.)
- In the bottom left, click your avatar and select Edit profile.
- Click Delete my account.
- If you're absolutely certain, confirm the action.
